In,1999, at the time Oskar was awarded the third and final telecommunicatons license, mobile penetration on the Czech market was 19%, with two well established mobile service providers. As the market's final entrant, Oskar adopted an aggressive price stance that enabled mobile usage for everybody. By 2005, Oskar acquired over 2 million subscribers, of which 48% are considered high value (postpaid) customers and an overall 20+% market share. This was achieved in a highly competitive market that was over 100% penetrated.
