The purpose of formalized Corporate Planning is to ensure that we maximize the use of all our resources by aligning execution and its processes to Oskar's strategy. The planning process at Oskar is based on centralized financial and business planning departments. However, during Oskar's initial growth, this process proves to be very time consuming, creating a lot of non-value added work. As it no longer fits the business model, it ceases to be completely functional and becomes a "bitter place".

Therefore, wanting a stronger process that makes the most of limited planning time and that focuses on value-added areas, Oskar begins promoting horizontal (cross-functional) over vertical (functional) thinking, thus aiming for a "better place".
